How Much Does Mandap Hire Cost in the UK?

7 minute read · Updated 15 October 2026

If you've asked three suppliers for a mandap price you've probably received three very different answers. That isn't because anyone is being awkward. Mandap hire is a bespoke service where scale, styling, location and what's included all change the number.

This guide sets out realistic starting prices, explains what pushes a price up or down, and shows you how to compare quotes fairly. The figures below are the guide starting prices we show on every mandap listing. They are a high-level gauge, not a final quote.

Mandap hire prices at a glance

  • Essential, from £1,495. Clean, simple designs. Stage, stage carpet, aisleway decor, aisleway carpet and entrance archways are normally optional extras. In package deals the ceremony furniture is typically included.
  • Standard, £1,995 to £2,995. More styling and presence. At the lower end extras are still usually added separately; towards £2,995 more is usually included.
  • Premium, £3,495 to £4,495. Richer florals and design detail. Stage, carpets, aisle decor and arches are usually part of the package.
  • Luxury, £5,495 to £7,995. Statement installations with grand scale and heavy floral work, typically fully packaged.

Why prices vary so much

Two mandaps can look similar in a photo and be priced thousands of pounds apart. The reasons are usually practical rather than mysterious.

Scale and structure

A compact frame takes less material and less time to build than a large round canopy with pillars. The bigger and more structurally complex the design, the more it costs to transport, build and take down.

Floral density and finish

A sparse floral garland and a ceiling of dense florals are very different jobs. Heavier decoration means more materials, more labour and often more installation time. Carved or crystal pieces also carry their own premium.

Location, access and time on site

Distance from the supplier's base, parking, stairs or lifts, strict venue timings and the number of hours the team must be on site all change the figure. This is why every quote needs your postcode and venue.

What is included

The biggest source of confusion. One supplier's price may include a stage, carpeting and aisle decor; another's may cover only the mandap. Always ask for an itemised list before comparing totals.

What does a typical budget get you?

Around £1,500 to £2,000

A simple, elegant structure with core styling. It suits intimate ceremonies and couples who already have a stage or want to spend more elsewhere. Add the extras you need, and see our guide to hiring a mandap for under £2,000.

Around £3,000 to £4,500

More design detail, richer florals and usually a fuller package. This is where many couples find the best balance between presence and cost.

£5,000 and above

Large, dramatic installations with sophisticated styling. Check ceiling height and floor space first, because grand designs need room to work.

How to compare mandap prices fairly

  1. Ask every supplier for an itemised quote that names the stage, stage carpet, steps, aisle decor, aisle carpet and entrance arches separately.
  2. Check whether delivery, installation and collection are included, and whether there are time or distance surcharges.
  3. Confirm the flowers: fresh or artificial, and whether colours can be adjusted.
  4. Ask what happens with deposits, date changes and design changes.
  5. Compare total price for the same list of items, not headline price for different ones.

That's the process we built Compare The Mandap around. You can compare designs and starting prices side by side, shortlist up to five, and send one enquiry rather than contacting suppliers one by one.

Is the cheapest option the best value?

Not necessarily. A low starting price that leaves out the stage, carpets and aisle decor can end up costing more than a fuller package. Equally, an expensive design you don't need is poor value. The aim is the right mandap for your venue and guest numbers, at a price that's clear from the start.

Quick answers

How much does mandap hire cost in the UK?

On Compare The Mandap, starting prices run from £1,495 for a simple design up to around £7,995 for a grand, heavily floral installation. These are guide prices: your exact figure depends on your location, your exact requirements, how long the team is on site and the venue itself. Your quote confirms it.

Why do mandap hire prices vary so much?

Price reflects scale, the number of florals and finishing details, how long installation takes, how far the team travels, and whether a stage, carpets and aisle decor are included. Two mandaps that look similar in a photo can be very different packages. Comparing starting prices alongside what's included is the fair way to judge value.

What is included in a mandap hire package?

A package deal typically includes the ceremony furniture: bride and groom chairs, side chairs, kanyadan chairs, patlas, bajots, a havan kund and choris. At lower starting prices (up to about £2,500) the stage, stage carpet, aisleway decor, aisleway carpet and entrance archways are usually optional extras. Above that, packages usually include them too, depending on your location and requirements. Every quote lists each item, so you can compare like with like.

What furniture is included in mandap hire (bajots, patlas, choris, kanyadan chairs)?

In package deals the ceremony furniture is typically all included. A typical list is 2 bride and groom chairs, 2 side chairs, 2 kanyadan chairs, 2 patlas, 2 bajots, a havan kund with foil insert, 4 choris and 6 pedestals with Ganesh murtis. Carpets and the entrance gate are not part of this furniture list and are quoted separately. Quantities vary by design and venue, so check your quote.
