How to Compare Mandap Quotes: A Checklist
7 minute read · Updated 15 October 2026
Getting quotes from several suppliers should make your decision easier. In practice it often does the opposite, because each quote lists different things in a different order at a different level of detail. This checklist helps you compare like with like, whoever you choose.
Step 1: Make every quote itemised
Ask each supplier to list, line by line, what's included. Without this you can't compare. The core items are:
- The mandap and its floral styling as pictured
- Ceremony furniture: bride and groom chairs, side chairs, kanyadan chairs, patlas, bajots, choris, havan kund, pedestals and Ganesh murtis
- Stage, size and height
- Stage carpet and steps
- Aisleway decor
- Aisleway carpet
- Entrance archway(s)
- Delivery, installation and collection
- Any extras you've asked for
Step 2: Check the flowers
Ask whether the florals are fresh, artificial or a mix, whether colours can be changed and what that costs. See fresh vs artificial flowers.
Step 3: Check it fits your venue
Confirm ceiling height, floor space, access, parking and installation times. A cheaper quote that doesn't fit your hall isn't cheaper. Our guide to space and ceiling height explains what to measure.
Step 4: Ask to see the real thing
Photos are real installations adapted to their venues. Ask for more photos of the exact design, photos in a similar venue, or a viewing. A confident supplier will happily share them.
Step 5: Consider your own stage
If you already have a stage, tell every supplier. It might change the package and the price significantly, and the mandap needs to be built to fit it.
Step 6: Read the terms
- Deposit amount and balance date
- Cancellation terms
- Design change policy
- Date change policy
- What happens if something is unavailable or damaged
Step 7: Compare totals for the same list
Only once every quote covers the same items should you compare the final numbers. A low headline price with half the items missing can end up more expensive.

Quick answers
Why do mandap hire prices vary so much?
Price reflects scale, the number of florals and finishing details, how long installation takes, how far the team travels, and whether a stage, carpets and aisle decor are included. Two mandaps that look similar in a photo can be very different packages. Comparing starting prices alongside what's included is the fair way to judge value.
What furniture is included in mandap hire (bajots, patlas, choris, kanyadan chairs)?
In package deals the ceremony furniture is typically all included. A typical list is 2 bride and groom chairs, 2 side chairs, 2 kanyadan chairs, 2 patlas, 2 bajots, a havan kund with foil insert, 4 choris and 6 pedestals with Ganesh murtis. Carpets and the entrance gate are not part of this furniture list and are quoted separately. Quantities vary by design and venue, so check your quote.
Can I see the actual mandap before booking?
Photos on our site are real examples of installations, but each setup is adapted to its venue. Many suppliers can share more photos of the exact design, and some offer a viewing at their warehouse or a showroom. Ask your adviser to arrange extra images or a viewing before you commit.
Can I use my own wedding stage with a hired mandap?
Often yes, and that's a common reason for choosing a lower starting price without the stage. Tell us the stage size, height and surface so the mandap is built to fit it safely. If your venue provides a stage, we'll check dimensions and access first.
What is included in a mandap hire package?
A package deal typically includes the ceremony furniture: bride and groom chairs, side chairs, kanyadan chairs, patlas, bajots, a havan kund and choris. At lower starting prices (up to about £2,500) the stage, stage carpet, aisleway decor, aisleway carpet and entrance archways are usually optional extras. Above that, packages usually include them too, depending on your location and requirements. Every quote lists each item, so you can compare like with like.
