Getting the Best Value on Mandap Hire
Updated 24 October 2026
The cheapest way to hire a mandap is rarely the lowest headline price. Booking the mandap and decor together, choosing artificial or fresh flowers carefully, making the most of what your venue already has and asking for changes to a design can all bring the total down. Every budget can be catered for, and so can very grand, extravagant designs. Here is how to get the best value from your mandap hire in the UK.
Book the mandap and decor with the same company
Mandap hire and decor packages are more cost efficient when you book them with the same company. Delivery, setup and staffing are shared instead of being paid for twice, and one team is responsible for the whole look. If you need both, always ask for a package deal rather than pricing each item separately. See what is included in mandap hire to know what to compare.
A single company can also manage tight turnarounds. A common example is a venue that is used for a morning ceremony and an evening reception: the mandap is set in the morning, and the decor is installed for the evening. One team doing both avoids clashes between suppliers and wasted time.
Using a venue's own structure outdoors
If you are planning an outdoor mandap, an external structure that is already at the venue can sometimes be used, with flowers and furniture added to it. A good example is Froyle Park in Hampshire, where there is a structure that can be used outside. Many other venues have the same option, so ask yours what is available before you book anything.
Artificial or real flowers: decide early
The choice between artificial and real flowers makes a huge difference to your budget, so think about it early. Artificial flowers are reusable, can be put in place days ahead and cope well with wind, heat and rain. Fresh flowers cost more and depend on season and weather. Many couples use fresh flowers only where guests and photographers look closest. Read fresh vs artificial flowers on a mandap for a full comparison.
Make it bespoke and drop what you do not need
All budgets can be catered for. If you love the look of a mandap but do not want certain things, they can be changed or made bespoke. Typical changes include:
- Removing extra drapes or hanging decor you will not notice
- Swapping flower colours or mixing artificial and fresh flowers
- Choosing a smaller base or leaving out items your venue already provides
- Adding only the furniture you need for the ceremony
Tell your adviser what you love and what you would skip, and ask for the price both ways. Our guide to comparing mandap quotes shows how to check each quote like for like.
Want something huge and extravagant?
Very large, grand designs are also available from our teams, subject to budget. Share your vision, with photos or a mood board, and we will work out how to make it happen at your venue. Browse our Luxury mandaps for inspiration, then ask for an exact price.
Ask for a package deal
Prices on this site are guides and depend on your venue, requirements and time on site. The simplest way to get the best value is to tell us everything you need in one enquiry: mandap, decor, furniture and timings. We will quote it as one package. Get an exact price.
Quick answers
Is it cheaper to book the mandap and decor from one company?
Usually, yes. A package avoids paying for delivery, setup and staff twice, and one company can manage tight turnarounds, such as a morning mandap and evening decor. Always ask for a package deal if you need both.
Can I use a venue's own structure for an outdoor mandap?
Sometimes. Some venues have an external structure you can use, with flowers and furniture added. Froyle Park is one example. Ask your venue, and have a contingency for rain.
How much do artificial flowers save compared with fresh?
It varies by design, but the choice between artificial and real flowers makes a large difference to budget. Artificial flowers are reusable and weather-proof, while fresh flowers cost more. A mix often gives the best balance.
Can a mandap be adjusted if I do not want everything in the photo?
Yes. Things can be removed, swapped or made bespoke, so you only pay for what you want. Tell your adviser which parts you like and which you would skip.
