10 Things Mandap Suppliers May Not Tell You

Most mandap suppliers are honest, but quotes often leave out details that only matter once it is too late to change them. These ten questions cover the points customers most often wish they had asked earlier. Put the answers in writing before you pay a deposit.

1. Is the stage included? At lower prices it often is not. Ask about the stage, carpets, aisle decor and entrance arch separately.
2. Which flowers are fresh and which are artificial? Ask exactly where fresh flowers are used. See fresh vs artificial flowers.
3. How long does setup take, and how early can they get in? A mandap that takes three hours to install does not suit a two-hour venue window.
4. What are delivery, travel and removal costs? Distance, parking and access can add to the total.
5. Is the photo the real structure at a similar scale? A mandap that looks stunning close up can look small in a large hall. Ask for a wide photograph of the full setup.
6. What condition is it in? Hire stock is reused. That is normal, but ask for recent photos of the actual structure.
7. Can colours and flowers be substituted? Ask what happens if a flower or fabric is unavailable and how you will be told.
8. What is the plan if something goes wrong? Ask about late arrivals, damage and a backup for outdoor weddings, including rain.
9. What is written down? The exact design, venue, date, inclusions, balance due date and change terms should be in the quote before you pay.
